Most of our customers have had the same questions you might have about self-storage. We've provided a list of commonly asked questions we've answered over the years which may serve you in your decision-making process.

Do you provide outside storage?  If storing a vehicle, what is required?  Yes, we have outside storage for your autos, boats, RV's, trailers, trucks, etc. Your vehicle must be in operating condition and we require a copy of the registration or title on file.                                            

Do you offer any discounts or specials?  Our pricing is extremely competitive and, on occasion, we offer specials based on availability. We always offer a free month special if rent is paid eleven months in advance. For further information regarding discounts and specials, please contact the business office as we are happy to answer all of your questions.

What type of security do you provide?  We have on-site resident managers and unique, coded gate access is limited to current tenants, only. Each tenant is provided with a specific security code unique to their account. We also use sophisticated computer software which allows us to monitor all entrance and exit activity from the office.

What items cannot be stored?  You cannot store hazardous, toxic, or illegal substances. Also, no improperly packaged food or perishable items. If in doubt about what may be stored, please ask the property manager.

What are your methods and terms of payment?  We accept cash, checks, and money orders. All rents are due on the 1st of the month with a minimal grace period. You may send your payment, come into the office during business hours to make payment, and we also have a 24hr. payment drop on-site.

Will you send me a monthly statement?  Do you accept payment in advance? Traditionally, storage facilities do not send out billing statements, but for a small monthly fee we will certainly accommodate you. Yes, we do accept payment in advance. Should you have credit on account and elect to terminate your stay at our facility unexpectedly, all rent paid in advance other than the current move-out month's payment is fully refundable. We have been in business over thirty years and take great pride in operating with honesty and integrity as core values.

Do you pro-rate the rent?  Yes, we pro-rate rent as all rents are due on the 1st of the month. For Example: Should you choose to enter into a lease agreement with our facility on the 15th of the month, we always charge one full month's rent upon move-in. In effect, the 14 days of the month we charged you for when you were not our tenant are credited back to you on the 1st of the following month when rent is, once again, charged.

Are there any deposits or fees in addition to rent?  There are no deposits required on container storage (storage units), however, we do collect a small deposit on parking spaces which is fully refundable upon move-out with proper notice. We charge a small administration fee for each contract we write. If you are a current tenant and require additional space we always waive the administration fee.

Do you provide a lock? Does anyone else have a key?  We do not provide you with a lock, however, you can purchase a new 'case-hardened steel' lock from the office. We have several types to choose from and each is factory-sealed in sturdy plastic and no one else has a key to that lock. Also, you may bring your own lock. You store it. You lock it. You keep the key!

Must I rent for a certain number of months?  No, your lease agreement is based on a month-to-month occupancy. A one-month rental is minimally required.

Why should I rent on the ground floor? Does it make a difference?  There are huge benefits to having storage space on the ground floor. Most often you can pull right up to the door. Loading and unloading is much quicker and easier as you do not have to contend with very long hallways, stairways, or waiting your turn to use the elevator.

What does 'on-site' management mean?  An On-Site or Resident Manager means that the employee has their home on the premises as part of the facility.

What is a roll-up door?  Roll-up doors are the most common door in self-storage. The unit is accessed by lifting the door upward similar to the motion of a garage door. Most of our doors here at Storage Stop are 'roll-up' doors. All of our unit entryways provide you with maximum space access.

What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?  Office hours are the hours of operation for the property office. During these hours property managers are available to assist you with your storage needs, answer questions, engage in leasing, and take payment. Gate hours or Access hours are the hours your property can be accessed at the facility.

What is the difference between an indoor unit and an outdoor unit?  An outdoor unit is one that you may walk up to outside of a building or drive directly up to the entrance. An indoor unit is one that will require you to enter a building located on the property to access the entrance of your storage unit. All of our units are walk-up or drive-up access.

What if I need access to my storage unit before or after posted hours?  Will I be accommodated? Please convey your needs to the office manager. We do our very best to keep our tenants happy.
